Home

I'm finally back home and about to sleep in my comfortable bed!

I'm super tired after waiting 8 hours for a flight because of thunder storm and weather delays. For anyone flying out of ORD keep in mind you might be delayed, this is what several people have told me AFTER I had already booked my flight. It was pretty neat seeing half size golf ball hail land everywhere at the airport and then not being able to see 20' because of the crazy down pour of rain.

My trip was great and my shoot was awesome. I have no idea when I'll post photos because we're in the middle of the season - meaning I'm flooded with work. In the mean time here's some video of my landing at ORD =)

Flying to Chicago

In a while I'll be waking up, taking a drive to LAX and flying to Chicago for an engagement session and visit a friend. I'm pretty excited about the entire trip and I hope to document it well so all of you can see what I saw =)

I'll be doing this in two different ways. One with my still camera and two with my pocket video camera; a Creative Labs Vado HD. I'll be posting photos and videos when I get back.

My biggest concern is flying with all my gear. A few months ago I purchased a Pelican 1510 because it meets the requirements for a carry-on so hopefully I don't have any issues.

Anyways, some of you may be wondering what exactly I'm bringing. Here is exactly what I'm bringing:

• Canon 1D3
• Canon 5D
• Yashica D & plenty of film =)
• Canon 16-35
• Canon 24 1.4
• Canon 50 1.4
• Canon 85 1.2
• Canon 70-200 2.8
• Sigma 15 fisheye
• Tamron 28-75, great travel lens
• Kenko extension tubes
• Canon 580 flash
• Elinchrom Skyports
• Nexto Ultra ND-2525
• Creative Labs Vado HD + bracket
• Chargers, batteries, cables and misc items

Enough with the list, lets see what it looks like inside the Pelican 1510! Photo taken with my Blackberry Storm:

You can see my cat's head at the top right corner. Too bad he doesn't fit =(

My 5D + 16-35 will be in my personal carry on and in its place will be my Yaschica D.

Here's today's sunset taken with my 1D3 while driving:

See you guys in a week!

IBJJF World Championship 2009

I attended the IBJJF world championships last week to watch my good friend get it on. He fights for Check Mat BJJ and it was his first time competing. He won second place in the world championships!

I've been pretty crunched for time, but here's the video to keep you busy =) I mounted my pocket cam onto my 1D3 for your enjoyment.

I'll be posting the pictures after I get back from Chicago. See you then!

Sunday: Palos Verdes

This is a follow up from my 'Saturday: Palos Verdes' posting. We'll start with their really fun esession I shot at the Santa Monica Pier. I also used my medium format 6x6 Yashica D =)

A note for anyone who wants to shoot inside the amusement park area, you might get harassed like I did (even thought I've shot there many times) for a permit. It's quick and easy to get it though.

Their wedding took place at Malaga Cove Library in Palos Verdes with the reception at the Cheesecake Factory in Redondo Beach.

His reaction in the next few photo's is just incredible and makes me feel great I was able to document it.

This past weekend I was at Francesca Garden in San Juan Capistrano, check back later this week for an update!
